  1. Thank you for the wonderful episode about APPs. It’s so often that the APP and Physician communities collide and it was great to hear such an eloquent explanation about our similarities and differences. We all have something of value to bring to the table and often work together in a team to bring great care to our patients. I would like to point out that although CRNAs (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) are also APPs And frequently work in a anesthesia team model, we often work independently and without supervision which was not mentioned in the podcast. In California for example, there are 9 counties that have only CRNAs as the available anesthesia providers. I bring it up because I believe it is important to understand this small difference between some CRNAs and other APPs. Like you say in the podcast, it’s not always clear what background or experience some APPs have, where Physicians tend to have a more predictable educational background. I agree with Brandon in that everyone you encounter has an important role and should have the respect of the team. Thank you for verbalizing what is often so hard to say and often received with defensive points of view. With the ever changing healthcare culture, working together is our best and only option. Thank you!
