  1. Really insightful episode. I particularly appreciated when you delved more into the topic of privilege, as it was done in a very approachable way. I feel like I can encourage my male colleagues to listen to this episode and they will feel included and not attacked.

As a woman in anesthesia I was very excited to learn more about the support system of women physicians Dr Shillcutt has built. I was gutted to find on her website that residents and fellows are excluded from this support system. I imagine many of your listeners are physicians in training considering many episodes focus on boards prep, so I was surprised that Dr Shillcutt’s group actively excludes us. Do you have any insight as to why?

Thank you for all you do!

    1. Hi Margot,

Thanks so much for the comment. Here is Dr. Shillcutt’s response:

I am thankful for this comment and appreciate and acknowledge the need trainees have for peer mentoring and support. This is one of the reasons I made my page public – Brave Enough, on all my social media accounts. I do have a private FB group for attending women physicians, as I know they have specific needs I can address. I welcome any trainee in my classes, & courses, and encourage them to use my web
Page and resources or conferences – they are welcome and I want them to know I see and acknowledge them!
