  1. Great episode! Truelearn states that uncontrolled hypothyroidism can decrease MAC requirements and increase sensitivity to anesthetics secondary to the CNS depression. Just wondering your thoughts on this? I know that the Qbanks have small errors in them as well.

  2. I think potassium iodide can be used for thyroid storm, but thyroid hormone synthesis must first be blocked (PTU or methimazole at least one hour before); otherwise, iodine therapy can enhance hormone production and exacerbate the thyroid storm.
